11 Things Schools Don't Teach Millennials

Updated: Feb 14, 2023

A woman with a petition went into a crowd at a state fair asking people to sign her petition banning the use of Dihydrogen Monoxide. She said it was in our lakes and streams and now it was in our sweat and tears. She gained hundreds of signatures to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide, a fancy chemical name for water. This stunt was put on by a few comedians, but this issue is not a laughing matter. This story illustrates Pavlov's dog. People are conditioned when they hear political rhetoric that makes people act like hearing a bell in school. The government has been brainwashing children since the beginning of Compulsory Education in the early 1920s. The government wanted to brainwash all of the new immigrant children that were coming to America. Compulsory Education teaches confusion and obedience. Public schools teach students to pretend that they care about a subject until the bell rings. Never complete a task when the bell rings. Go to your next class in an organized manner. Also, school teaches you what to think, not how to think. Here are 10 things that school doesn't teach you.

  1. How to avoid bad debt

ree

There are two kinds of debt in the world of money. They are good debt and bad debt. To simplify this concept, good debt makes you richer and bad debt makes you poorer. If you get a loan for an apartment complex, and now you have renters paying you, this is considered good debt. If you have a mortgage, car note, student loan and this takes money from you, this is considered as “bad debt”.

2. How to create an asset

School does not teach students how to fill out a financial statement. A Balance sheet is a financial statement that reports your assets and liabilities.

ree

An asset is a property owned by a person or company, regarded as having value and available to meet debts, commitments or legacies. Millennials should work on getting assets that will generate money every month and stay away from liabilities. Do not be slave to the lender.

3. How money works

Ever since President Nixon took America off the gold standard, money is not backed by gold. Rich People don’t work for money. Money is debt. Why do you think banks want to lend out money for homes, cars and school loans? The Banks get paid off the interest. The only people who work for money are the people who are trying to keep their homes and cars. Banks use fractional reserve banking to loan money that they don't have.

4. How to solve problems

The public school system has an agenda. They do not teach people how to think. Their goal is to tell people what to think.

ree

Most kids do not know how to problem solve when they graduate from college. Most kids are so sick of school that they don't pick up a book to read when they start their careers. Successful people get paid for Solving big problems.

5. How taxes work

We are taxed when we purchase items from the store, we are taxed when we earn an income and when we die. Most people do not know the difference between a W2 form and a 1040 form. Taxes should be taught in school as a necessity so kids can become financially literate.

6. How to start a business and delegate

Starting a business is very important if you want to have freedom. Most people do not want to work for anybody. School prepares you to find a job and work on someone’s dream. You need to learn how to create leverage for yourself. School doesn't teach you to delegate other responsibilities so you can focus on growing your business.

7. Rule of 72

School doesn't teach you what to do with your money. What is the Rule of 72? The Rule of 72 is a simple way to determine how long an investment will take to double given a fixed annual rate of interest.

ree

By dividing 72 by the annual rate of return, investors obtain a rough estimate of how many years it will take for the initial investment to duplicate itself.

8. Fail forward

School teaches kids that you have to be perfect. Thomas Edison conducted 1000 failed experiments. Every failed experiment is one step closer to your success. Reggie Jackson has the most strikeouts in Major League Baseball history with 2500 strikeouts. He hit 563 homeruns in his career. Reggie Jackson hit 2 out of 10. He was out 8 out of ten times and he was inducted into Major League Baseball hall of fame in 1993.

9. Work smarter not harder

The days of working harder are over. The industrial age is dying in America. Schools are teaching based on old ideas.

ree

Working smarter can be buying 5 lawn mowers and renting them out to five people. Schools need to teach how to use leverage to get things done quicker and more efficiently.

10. Pareto principle

The Pareto Principle, named after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, is known as the 80/20 rule, states that 80% of the results come from 20% of the workers. It is referred to as the “Law of the Vital Few,”. Millennials could benefit from this Law if they knew the concept during their educational years.

11. Public speaking skills

Do you remember having to do public speaking in class? It was horrifying to get in front of class clowns to present a topic that you were not interested in. 75% of people are terrified to do public speaking.

ree

Statistically, privately educated British students will control professions and political positions according to 2014 reports. These schools teach public speaking skills.
